WICHE/WRGP Tuition Program

(Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education / Western Regional Graduate Program)

Graduate applicants for on-campus program options who are residents of any participating WICHE state/territory may enroll and pay resident tuition rates:

HRSA-BHWET Stipend Program

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) Program Grant enables the CSU School of Social Work to award a $10,000 field education stipend to concentration year or advanced standing MSW students focused on clinical work addressing the behavioral health needs of rural and underserved populations, with particular attention to addressing the needs of multi-cultural and multi-lingual clients and communities.

Colorado Child Welfare Stipend Program

The Child Welfare Stipend Program at Colorado State University in the School of Social Work is funded through Title IV-E of the Social Security Act, and provides MSW students between $8,000-$10,000 for field education serving families using public child welfare services.

Tuition and Fees

On-campus MSW Program

  • Graduate School Tuition and Fees (does not include Differential Tuition which is noted in the section below)
  • Differential Tuition
    • Additional fee of $115 per credit hour
      • Applies to all students enrolled in the on-campus Masters of Social Work program
      • Provides critical support for the School of Social Work, enabling us to expand our academic programs while maintaining the high level of quality both CSU and the Council on Social Work Education demand
      • Approved as recommended by the Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System
      • Assessed every semester in which students are enrolled in MSW coursework and includes the field education credits required by the degree program
      • Differential tuition totals:
        • $6,900-$7,475 for full-time two-year, part-time day, and part-time evening MSW students
        • $4,600-$4,830 for advanced standing students

    This additional cost should be considered when applying for financial aid.

  • Grand totals of tuition and differential fees (as of Fall 2017) for a full‐time Colorado resident or WICHE recipient, slightly more than twice this for out-of-state residents:

Distance MSW Program

  • Tuition: $669 per credit hour (as of Fall 2017)
    • The credit hour cost for each cohort remains the same throughout that program.
  • Technology fee: $25 per semester
    • Mandated by the university for all students, distance or local, and subject to change.
  • Grand totals
    • Based on the currently required 60 credit hours (40 required hours for Advanced Standing)
    • Does not include books, supplies, travel costs, etc.
      • 3-year program: approximately $40,500
      • Advanced Standing program: approximately $26,760
